Young, talented and working/living in Italy? Some guys have all the luck! Buona fortuna, Signore D'Alvise.

Ditto! If I had the same opportunity and very little chance of landing a fat pro contract in North America, that is the option I would choose. You could certainly do worse than live abroad and get paid to do a job that you love.... Good luck in Italia!

Evidently Italy was not to his liking or they didn't like him. According to elite prospects he has been released. Here is the article from the Italian club. I translated it but don't know if the translation will come through.

After two days in Bolzano has however been homesick and so decided to return to Canada.

Hope she's worth it. You can spend an entire season in Stockton, but can't hang for more than 2 days in Italy?

Could HC Bolzano's loss be the Thunder's gain? It sure would be nice to have his speed and offensive skills back in the Thunder stable. Dare to dream!

He was protected by the Thunder and given a qualifying offer back in July. Since he didn't sign with the team by August 1st I don't know where this leaves him.

Chris has signed with a team in the CHL. Not sure but I think with the Allen Americans. Also, Matt Robinson has signed with the Laredo Bucks. Too bad I will miss seeing the boys when they come to Victoria.

CDN, thanks for the information on D'Alvise. Too bad he went to the CHL because I would have really liked to see him back with the Thunder. C'est la vie. Can't live in the past so I look forward to seeing all of our returning "vets" and the new faces on the ice soon (not soon enough, however!).

Sorry, my mistake. It was not D'alvise who has gone to the CHL. It was Dacosta. I didn't listen correctly.
